LANDSCAPES

Meet the Artist

We begin on familiar ground: traditional landscapes—sky above, earth below—shaped by composition, light, and striking environments. But I’m also drawn to metaphorical landscapes, images that resonate with emotions, ideas, or cultural references beyond the depicted place. For example, Unreal City (first landscape sample) alludes to T. S. Eliot and Baudelaire while recalling the final scene of H. G. Wells’s War of the Worlds.

I’m particularly attentive to cave interiors, where the absence of sky, the singularity of mineral formations, and the drama of directional artificial light can imbue a scene with powerful metaphorical force.
